I chose to write about the article about Adele from the Q magazine. I chose this article because I like Adele's music. The article about her is a two-page spread; on the fist page there is a mid-shot picture of her with a black background. I think this colour was chosen as it is very classy. On the second page there are two points at the top of the page to highlight that she was the winner of the 'Q best female artist' and the winner of 'Q best track presented by Q radio'. These points shows that she is a popular artist among the public and the press. Her name is on the left of the page, in large font so that it is one of the first things to catch your eye.
The magazine writes about her shows that have gone, and those which are coming up, this shows that she is a very current artist. The article says that she doesn't like to perform in arenas, this makes a seem different. She has sold 10 million copies world wide which also shows how popular she is. The article talks about her the changes in her next show, and the classic songs from her new album she is going to sing. The article makes her seem like a really good person; they say that she is dramatic, relates to her audience really well, emotively soulful and a lot more.
Her upcoming shows have been listed in a red circle, to stand out from everything, to make the reader interested to go to her next shows. There is a list of her songs from her album on the right side of the second page. Her double spread seems more classy than the rest of the articles in the magazine, because the background is black.
This is an issue of Q magazine, but not the one that I evaluated. I included this picture to show the kind of style and conventions that Q magazine uses. |
