My Evaluation on Prezi

My evaluation presentation on Prezi. http://prezi.com/sm501tecwcav/evaluation/

Tuesday 20 March 2012

These are some of the pictures I took for the magazine. I took a range of different shots. At first I only took a few but then I realised that I would need to take a lot more because the shots do not always turn out as I want them to, so I did not worry about taking too many shots the second time. The first set of pictures I took for my magazine were really plain and did not represent music at all. Although I took a lot of pictures, I only used six photos from here in my magazine.

Final Cover, Contents Page and Double-Page Spread

Here are my final front cover, contents page and double-page spread I think that my front cover is a bit too bright as I adjusted the levels of lighting in the photo and I made it a bit too bright. Overall I like the layout of the front cover and the contents page. I like the way there are lines separating the different sections of the contents page because it makes it look professional. I also like the layout of the double page spread and I like how the pink flows throughout the two pages; I edited a pink outline on two of the pictures. On the contents page, I included features such as 'unveil artists behind the mask' I think these types of headings give off an exiting feel, that would make the reader instantly want to reader the article.
There is a 'news' section which includes current information about relevant artists that the reader would be interested to find out about. One of the titles I used on this section was; ''Artists performing in the O2 this year and why you have to be there''. In the 'reviews' section of the contents page I included titles such as ''We take a look at artists' fashion hits and misses''. I think that these types of titles give a laid back type of feel that are not as exiting but they are articles that the reader would want to find out about as they are linked to artists. This section is at the bottom of the page because it may not be as exiting to the reader as the other two sections. I added an editors note to make it proffesional and give it an edge as R&B magazines do not normally include anything from the editor and they are normally quite plain. The double page spread is effective as it includes a lot of pictures for the reader to look at, and from my research I have found that this is what catches the reader's eye a lot of the time.

Magazine cover outline

The type of look I'm going for is simple and eye catching. I like the way the artist stands out in this cover, but doesn't take attention away from everything else on the cover.

The Interview so far...

This is an interview with the artist which will be included in my double page spread.

How did your singing career take off?
I didn’t see it coming. One day I was recording videos for my YouTube page and the next day I was signed to a record label recording a completely new album with Chris Brown. Two years ago I could not believe that I had received an email from Chris telling me that I have real potential and that he wants to collaborate on a few songs with me.
Who would you do a tour or concert with?
I would love to do a tour with someone fun but unexpected like One Direction. It would give a totally new aspect to my music style, since they do pop. They are good fun to be around, going on tour with them would be quite fun too.
Which artist would you say you are most like?
I would probably say that I most like the female Chris Brown because he has backed me up from the start and he has influenced my music a lot, since I came into the music industry. Obviously, I am recording a lot more tracks for my new album, and picking up new vocal tricks along the way.
Which artists have you enjoyed working with?
Chris, Nicki, Rihanna was fun to work with too.
What would you be if you were not a musician?
I don’t know what I would be because singing has always been my passion, since I was like six years old. If I did anything else I don’t think I could ever be as happy, this is what I love to do.
What distracts you while you are performing on stage?
Umm...my fans are just amazing but when I see them going crazy over me it is distracting. One time at a concert I saw someone who looked just like me and it was literally like looking in a mirror, I couldn't believe it.
What influenced your current album?
The whole album is based on my life story so far; uplifts and downfalls, meeting different artists and becoming better in what I do and my personal life.
Who is your biggest influence?
Beyonce because she is the complete package, she has beauty, talent, personality and charisma. She made it to where she is now with a lot of hard work and persistence.
For a special impact on everyone, what would your slogan be?
I don’t like fake people and I think I would want it to have the right vibe when people link it to me, so it would most likely be, ‘It’s real’.
